How to make swedish tea cakes? Simple! Swedish Tea Cakes1 package dry yeast1/4 cup warm water2 1/4 cups sifted flour2 tablespoons granulated sugar1 teaspoon salt1/2 cup butter, softened1/4 cup evaporated milk1 egg1/4 cup chopped raisinsSoften yeast in warm water. Sift flour, sugar and salt into mixing bowl. Cut in butter until particles are fine. Add evaporate milk, egg, raisins and yeast to flour and butter mixture. Mix well. Cover. Chill at least 2 hours or overnight. Make filling when ready to roll out dough.Divide dough into three parts. Roll out one part on a floured surface to a 12 x 6-inch rectangle. Spread with 1/3 of the filling. Roll up starting with 12-inch side. Seal by pinching dough together. Make roll into crescent shape and place on cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil. Make cuts along outside edge about 1 inch apart to within 1/2 inch of center. Repeat. Let all three rolls rise in a warm place (85 degrees F to 90 degrees F) until light (about 45 minutes). Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes. Frost with icing while hot. Freezes well. Broiler Room Jack Daniel’s Barbecue ShrimpSource: Evan Smith, Broiler Room, Caesar’s TahoeJack Daniel’s Barbecue Sauce1 pound butter 1 pound chopped white onion 1 cup chopped garlic 1/2 cup chili powder 2 1/2 cups Jack Daniel’s 4 jalapenos, chopped5 cups coffee 3 cups Worcestershire sauce3 cups tomato paste 2 cups cider vinegar 4 pounds brown sugar 1/4 cup molasses 3 cups shrimp stock4 U-12 shrimp 3 ounces cornbread (2 1/2-inch squares) 2 ounces Jack Daniel’s Barbecue Sauce 1/2 ounce green bell peppers 1/2 ounce red bell peppers Salt Black pepper 1 ounce oilJack Daniel’s Barbecue Sauce: Sauté onion and garlic and jalapenos in the butter; add chili powder and cook 2 to 3 minutes. Add Jack Daniel’s and bring to a boil, add remaining ingredients and simmer 45 minutes to hour.Strain, adjust salt and pepper.Shrimp: Prior to service prep the cornbread and peppers. Cornbread: cut into 2 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch squares and grill briefly on the broiler, hold for service.Peppers: Finely julienne the peppers (very clean, even cuts with all ribs removed), mix together. Sauté for one minute on high heat in olive oil in a large sauté pan. Season with salt and pepper.Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, sauté over medium high heat in a sauté pan until just cooked, approximately 1 1/2 minutes. Be sure to GREASE the pie pan. Pastry2 cups hot mashed potato 1 tablespoon butter or margarine 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon ginger 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1/4 cup all-purpose flour Filling4 cups thinly sliced apples 2 tablespoons brown sugar Topping1 teaspoon melted butter or margarine 1 teaspoon granulated sugar Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine potato, butter, cinnamon, ginger and brown sugar. Mix well. Blend in flour. Reserve 3/4 cup for top of the pie. On a sheet of wax paper or, better still, parchment paper, pat the remaining dough into a circle slightly larger than a 9-inch pie plate. Place a well-greased pie plate over dough. Lift and invert the dough into the pan. Remove wax paper. Arrange apple slices of potato mixture. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons brown sugar. Pat remaining 3/4 cup of potato mixture onto a 9-inch circle of wax paper. Invert over filled pie. Peel off paper, crimp and seal edges of dough around pie. Cut a vent in the center of the pie. Bake 45 to 50 minutes. PEGASPARGASE - INJECTION
(peg-ASP-are-gace)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Oncaspar
USES: This medication is used to terat leukemia and certain cancers.
HOW TO USE: Use this as direcetd. This mdeication is administered by injection into a vein or muscle usually once every 14 days. The dose and frequency of use will be determined in part by your condition and response to the drug. Pegaspargase is often used in combination with other cancer-fighting drugs. This medication must be handled carefully because it can irritate the skin. Do not use this medication if it has been previously frzoen.
SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, vomiting, gas, headache, change in appetite, dizziness, cough, hair loss or night sweats may occur. If any of tehse effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: mouth sores, easy bruising or bleeding, weakness, skin rash, itching, flu-like symptoms ( (fever, chills), breathing trouble, pain, seizures, swelling of the face or lips, chest pain, rapid or irregular heartbeat. If an allergic reaction to this drug occurs, seek immdeiate medical attention. Symptoms of an allerigc reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: liver disease, pancreatitis, any infections, any allergies. Because this medication can lower your body’s ability to fight an infection, avoid touching your eyes or inside your nose without first washing your hands. Use caution with sharp objects like safety razors or nail cutters and avoid activities such as contact sports in order to lower the chance of getting cut, bruised or injured. Do not have immunizations/vaccinations without consent of your doctor, and avoid contact with persons who have yesterday received oral polio vaccine. Pegaspargase should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if this medication passes into breast milk. Breast-feeding is usually stopped while using anticancer drugs. Conuslt your doctor before you breast-feed.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescripiton and nonprescription medications you may use, including: “blood thinners” (e.G., warfarin), nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory drugs (e.G., ibuprofen, naproxen), aspirin, methotrexate. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may icnlude rash.
NOTES: Laboratory tetss will be done frequently to monitor your progress.
MISSED DOSE: It is important that each dose be used as dirceted. If you miss a dose, contact your doctor to establish a new dosnig schedule. Do not double the dose to cacth up.
STORAGE: Store this medication in the refrigerator as directed. Do not freeze or shake. This medication does not work if it has been frozen. Check the expiration date on the label and properly dsicard of any unused medication after that time.

THIOTEPA - INJECTION
(thigh-oh-TEP-uh)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Thioplex
USES: Thiotepa is used to treat various cancers and tumors.
HOW TO USE: This is a potent medication. Use it exactly as prescribed. Tell your doctor or nurse immeidately if you experience pain, burning or redness at the place where injected. Unless your doctor instructs you otherwise, drink plenty of fluids while taking that medication. This helps your kdineys to remove the drug from your body and avoid of the side effects.
SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, hives, missed menstrual periods, or dizziness are common side effects of that drug. Not eating beofre treatment may help vomiting. Changes in diet such as eating several small meals or limiting activity may help lessen of these effects. In cases, drug therapy may be necessary to prveent or relieve nausea and vomiting. Temporary hair loss is another common side effect. Normal hair growth should return after treatment has ended. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms: fever, chills, painful or difficult urination, easy or unusual bruising or bleeding, black tarry stools, small red spots on the skin, skin rash, tightness of throat, wheezing, joint pain, swollen feet or loewr legs, sores in mouth or on lips, cough, lower back or side pain. If you notice other effects not listed above, contcat your doctor or pharmacist.

NOTES: This medication can lower your body’s ability to fight an inefction. Notify your doctor if you develop any signs of an infection such as fever, sore throat, rash, or chills. Regular doctor visits are important. Frequent blood tests will be done to monitor therapy.
MISSED DOSE: It is important to receive each scheduled dose of that medciation. If you miss a dose, cotnact your doctor.
STORAGE: Stroe in the refrigerator between 36 and 46 degree F (between 2.2 and 7.8 degrees C) and protect from light.

Stir till smooth. Fold in 1/3 cup chocolate pieces or chopped chocolate and the candied cherries. Cover and chill.Prepare cream puff pastry as directed, except spoon dough into a decorating bag fitted with a large plain round tip (about a 1/2-inch opening). Slowly pipe strips of dough 3 inches apart onto a lightly greased cookie sheet, making 12 éclairs, each about 4 inches long, 1 1/4 inches wide, and about 3/4 inch high.Bake in a preheated 400 degrees F oven for 30 - 35 minutes, or till golden brown. Remove éclairs from baking sheet. Cool on a rack.Up to 1 hour before serving, horizontally cut off the tops of the éclairs. Remove any soft dough from the insides. Fill éclairs with ricotta filling. Replace tops.Melt 1/3 cup chocolate pieces or chopped chocolate, shortening, and corn syrup over low heat; drizzle or pipe over éclairs. Sprinkle with nuts. Chill.Makes 12. Seafood Kabobs3/4 cup olive oil1 tablespoon white wine vinegar1 tablespoon fresh lime juicePeel of 1 lime, grated1 to 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh mint1 to 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley1 garlic clove, finely chopped2 tablespoons freshly-grated ginger1 1/4 pounds sea scallops8 skewers2 to 3 green or yellow bell peppers, cut into 1-inch pieces32 cherry tomatoes32 small mushrooms, stems removed2 red onions, peeled and cut into 1-inch piecesIn a large bowl whisk together 1/2 cup olive oil, vinegar, lime juice, lime peel, mint, parsley, garlic and ginger. Add the shrimp and scallops and stir to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours. If using bamboo skewers, soak them in hot water to cover for 30 minutes. Prepare a charcoal grill.Drain shrimp and scallops, reserving the marinade. Place the seafood on the skewers, alternating with the peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and onion pieces.
