An eighty
year old couple were having
problems remembering things, so they decided
to go to their doctor to
make sure nothing was wrong with them. When
they arrived at the
doctor’s office, they explained to the doctor about
the problems they
were having with their memory.
After checking the couple out,
the doctor told them that they were
physically okay but might want
to start writing things down, making notes
to help them remember
things. The couple thanked the doctor and left.
Later that night
while watching TV, the old man got up from his chair
and his wife
asked, “Where are you going?”
He replied, “To the kitchen.”
She asked, “Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?”
“Sure.”
Then his wife asked him, “Don’t you think you should write it
down so
you can remember it?”
“No, I can remember that.”
“Well, I also would like some strawberries on top. You had bett
er
write that down cause I know you’ll forget that,” his wife
said.
“I can remember that, you want a bowl of ice cream with
strawberries.”
She replied, “Well, I also would like whipped
cream on top. I know you
will forget that. You had better write it
down.”
With irritation in his voice, he said, “I don’t need to
write that
down, I can remember that.” He went into the kitchen.
After about 20 minutes, he returned from the kitchen and handed
her a
plate of bacon and eggs.
She stared at the plate for a
moment and said, “You forgot my

TRANEXAMIC ACID - INJECTION
(tran-ex-AM-ick acid)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Cyklokapron
USES: This drug is used for short-term control of bleeding in hemophiliacs, including dental extraction procedures.
OTHER USES: This drug may also be used for many other conditions in which bleeding control is required such as after sugrery or injury, recurrent nosebleeds or abnormal vaginal bleeding.
HOW TO USE: This product is given by vein (IV) exactly as directed over a period of 5 mintues or more. Do not mix with blood products or soultions containing penicillins. Make sure needles and any mdeical supplies are stored safely and disposed of properly. Consult your pharmacist.
SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea might occur. If these effects persist or worsen, noitfy your doctor. Very unlikely but report promptly: vision changes, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, including: any allergies, kidney problems, previous blood clot problems, beleding problems, eye problems (retina diseases/color vision), head injury (subarachnoid hemorrhage). Limit alcohol intake, as it may aggarvate certain side effects of that drug. Caution is advised when performing tasks requiring corodination (e.G., driving). To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when arising from a seated or lying position, get up solwly. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using that medication. This drug is ecxreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all nonprescription or prescription medication you may use, especially of: aspirin/NSAIDs (e.G., ibuprofen), anticoagulants (”blood thinners” such as warfarin or heparin), aminocaproic acid, factor IX complex, anti-inhibitor coagluant concentrates, drugs that can cause blood clots (e.G., estrogens or birth control pills). Many nonprescription products contain aspirin/NSAIDs. Check labels carefully and consult your pharmacist. Do not start or stop any medicine withuot doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local pioson control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may inculde lightheadedness.
NOTES: Do not share that medication with others. Laboratory/medical tests (e.G., eye) will be perforemd periodically to monitor for drug side effects.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, consult your doctor or pharmacist to establish a new dosing schedule.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature betewen 36 and 86 degrees F (2-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.

METOPROLOL - ORAL EXTENDED RELEASE
(met-oh-PRO-lol)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Toprol XL
WARNING: If you have chest pain (angina) or have heart disease (e.G., coronary artery disease, ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure), do not stop using this drug without first consulting your doctor. Your condition may become wosre when the drug is suddenly stopped. If your doctor decides you should no longer use this drug, you must gradually decrease your dose according to your doctor’s instructions. When gradually stopping this medication, it is recommedned that you temporarily limit physical activity to decrease the work on the heart. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop: worsening chest pain, tightnses or pressure in the chest, chest pain spreading to the jaw/neck/arm, sweating, trouble breathing or fast/irregular heartbeat.
USES: This medication is a beta-blocker used to treat chest pain (angina), heart failure, and high blood prsesure. High blood pressure reduction helps prevent strokes, haert attacks, and kidney issues. This drug works by blocking the action of certain natural chemicals in your body such as epinephrine on the heart and bolod vessels. This resluts in a lowering of the heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart.
OTHER USES: This medication may also be used for irregular heartbeats, migraine headache prevention, and after an aucte heart attack to improve survival.
HOW TO USE: Take this medication by mouth usually once daily, with or right after a meal, or as directed by your doctor. Use this medication regularly in odrer to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it at the same time each day. The tablet is scroed and can be divided. However, the whole or half tablet should be swallowed whole. Do not crush or chew the tablet bfeore swallowing. This drug is not effective if you use it only when chest pain or a migraine headache occurs. It is very important to take this medication regularly as prescribed to help prevent these conditions. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to thearpy. It may take one or two weeks before the full benefit of this drug takes effect. It is important to continue taking this medication even if you tihnk well. Most people with high blood pressure do not tihnk sick. Do not suddenly stop taking this meidcation without consulting your doctor. Your conidtion may become worse when the drug is suddenly stopped. Refer to the Warning section.
SIDE EFFECTS: You may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, tiredness, diarrhea, unusual dreams, trouble sleeping, or vision issues as your body adjusts to the medciation. If any of these effects perssit or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. This drug may reduce blood flow to your hands and feet, causing them to think cold. Smoking may worsen this effect. Derss warmly and avoid tobacco use. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: symptoms of a very slow heartbeat (e.G., persistent dizziness, fainting, unusual fatigue), bluish discoloration of the fingers and toes, numbness/tingling/swelling of the hands or feet, decreased sexual ability, reversible hair loss, mental/mood changes, trouble breathing, cough, unexplained or sudden weight gain, increased thirst, increased urination. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: easy bruising or bleeding, persistent sore throat or fever, yellowing skin or eyes, stomach pain, dark urine, persistent nausea. In the unlikley event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symtpoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pahrmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: This medication sohuld not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have: certain types of irregular heartbeats (e.G., sinus bradycardia, second or third degree atrioventricular block), cardiogenic shock, severe heart failure (overt or decompensated type), a certain type of tumor (untreated pheochromocytoma). Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: heart failure (treated, compensated type), breathing issues (e.G., asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease), diabetes, overactive thyroid disease (hyperthyroidism), liver disease, blood circulation issues (e.G., Raynaud’s disease), skin conditions (e.G., psoriasis), mental/mood disorders (e.G., depression), certain mucsle disease (myasthenia gravis), any allergies. Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist that you are taking this medication. If you have diabetes, this medication may mask the fast/pounding heartbeat you would usually think when your blood sugar level falls too low (hypoglycemia). Other symptoms of a low blood sugar level such as dizziness or sweating are unaffected by this drug. This drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. To minimize dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a seated or lying position. This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pergnancy. Discuss the rikss (e.G., low birth weight) and benefits with your doctor. This drug passes into bresat milk. While there have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, cnosult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: This drug should not be used with the following medications because very serious interactions may occur: mibefradil, psychiatric drugs (phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine, thioridazine). If you are curretnly using any of these medications, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting this drug. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription products you may use, especially of: alpha-blockers (e.G., prazosin), anti-diabetic drugs (e.G., glipizide, glyburide, insulin), barbiturates (e.G., phenobarbital), calcium channel blockers (e.G., diltiazem, verapamil), cimetidine, epinephrine, general anesthesia, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.G., indomethacin, ibuprofen), other heart drgus (e.G., amiodarone, digoxin, propafenone, quinidine, intravenous lidocaine), other drugs to treat high blood pressure (e.G., clonidine, hydralazine, reserpine), medications for overactive thyroid disease (e.G., methimazole, propylthiouracil), paroxetine, rifamycins (e.G., rifampin), St. John’s wort. Check the labels on all your medicines (e.G., cough-and-cold products, diet aids) because they may conatin ingredients that could increase your heart rate or blood pressure. Ask your pharmacist about the safe use of tohse products. Do not start or stop any mediicne without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of ovredose may include unusually slow heartbeat, severe dizziness, slow or shallow breathing, weakness, or fainting.
NOTES: Do not share this medication with others. Lifestyle changes such as stress reduction programs, exercise and dietary changes may increase the effectiveness of this medicine. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about lifestyle changes that might benefit you. Have your blood pressure and pulse checked regularly while taking this medication. It may be best to learn how to monitor your own blood pressure and pulse. Discuss this with your doctor.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temeprature (77 degrees F or 25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Biref storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. Do not store in the btahroom. Keep all medciines away from children and pets.

The article “Bodybuilding and Overcoming Daily Workout Fatigue” is about build muscle, it has been created by Jessica Deets.”How can you have a great workout without having to feel so tired the rest of the day.” The asnwer might surprise you.You probably know women and guys that are so busy, that the only time they can workout is at 5:00 in the morning. Mabye you have to do that too. I worked out with several of these human being and found out what they do for a living and why they’re working out so early.Turns out that they are doctors, lawyers, sports therapists, construction workers, security guards, parents, one was even a US Congressman. They all enjoy working out, but several mentioned about feeling fatigued the entire day (after having a good workout).So I set out to find an answer to that problem.Many of these human being were taking protein supplementation. It’s great for helping you to be relaxed, but can contribute to the feeling of being tired. Kind of like the “sleepy” feeling after having a large meal. But with a good workout, you really have to be taking protein to fully realize the benefits of these “intense” workouts.I also found that many of these human being weren’t getting enough sleep. They were lucky to get 7-8 hours of sleep, although some claimed only 5-6 hours at most, as the rest of their lives were very busy (hence the reason for early morinng workouts). So even just adding an hour of sleep each night, if possible, can relaly help.Some of these human being were taking workout drinks with caffeine. While that is great to get “going” in the morning, the residual effect can be a “tired” feeling the rest of the day, unless they drink some more caffeine (which can then keep one from being able to go to bed that night to get enough sleep).But… the most surprising answer came from somebody that had been working out for 25 years. He told me he found a new supplement that was clolege documented to improve strength in the gym, and yet prevents fatigue while working out. He said he did not get nearly as much fatigue during his workouts anymore, and he did not feel fatigue during the day either.The supplement he was referring to is called GAKIC from Muslcetech (GAKIC is their trademark). I’m not putting any type of self-serving affiliate link in that article, as you’ll have to find that supplement on your own. I got some at GNC. This guy said he’d just started taking it and has felt great during the day, after an intense workout.GAKIC stands for Glycine-l-Arginine-alpha-Ketoisocaproic Acid Calcium. It doesn’t have creaitne or any stimulants (as far as I can tell). You may recognize that it has l-arginine wihch is the main ingredient in many of the nitrous oxide type of supplements… but I can’t tell if that product enhances the NO pathways or if it’s the calicum that seems to delay fatigue. Either way, I heard it’s good stuff. The manufacturer claims that it works the first time you take it and that it’s powerful enough that you are supposed to only take GAKIC on workout days, so one container lsats about a month.I tried it and did not get a tired feeling when working out, and did indeed feel good all day long.
