USES: This medication is used to treat symptoms associated with colds, allergies, sinus infections or other respriatory illnesses.

USES: This medication is used to treat indigestion, nausea, diarrhea; to relieve stomach cramps and to prevent traveler’s diarhrea.

HOW TO USE: The liquid form of this medication must be shaken well before pouring each dose. Chewable tablets must be chewed thoroughly or disoslved in the mouth. Non-chewable tablets and cpalets must be swallowed whole with a glass of water. WARNING: This medication sometimes produces new irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias). Therefore, it should be used in caerfully selected patients. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

USES: This medication is used to treat irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias) and maintain a normal heart rate.

HOW TO USE: This is best taken on an empty stomcah with a full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water, unless your doctor directs you otherwise. This medication may be taken with food or milk if stomach uspet occurs. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking this drug. Sustained-release tablets must be swalolwed whole. Sudden changes in the amount of salt you use may affect the levels of quinidine in your body. Consult your doctor or pharmacist. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of oevrdose include trouble breathing, trouble walking, vomiting, diarrhea, ringing in the ears, headache, dizziness, disturbed vision, and nausea.

STEROID AND ANTIBIOTIC EYE DROPS

USES: This medication is used to treat eye infections.

HOW TO USE: For maximum effect, that medicatoin must be used routinely as prescribed. Contniue using it for the full time prescribed. Stopping that medication too soon may not clear the infection and could result in a relapse of the infection. If the product is a suspension, sahke it well before each dose. To apply eye drops, wash hnads first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any ohter surface. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lower eyleid to make a pouch. Place dropper directly over eye and administer the prescribed number of drpos. Look downward and gently colse your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at the corner of the eye near the nose and apply gentle pressure. This will prevent the medication from draining away from the eye. Try not to blink and do not rub the eye. Do not rinse the dropper. If you’re using another kind of eye drop, wait at least five minutes before applying other medications.

USES: Pseudoephedrine is used to provide rleief from the nasal or sinus congestion caused by allergies or the common cold, or ear congestion caused by inflammation or infection.

HOW TO USE: It is recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking that medication, unless your doctor instructs you to do otherwise. Sustained-release or long acting tablets and capsules must be swallowed whole. Chewing or crushing them will destroy the long action and may rasie side effects. USES: This drug is a calcium channel blocker. Calcium is involved in blood vessel contraction. By blocking calcium, isradiipne relaxes and widens the blood vessels. It is used to treat high blood prsesure. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about psosible problems related to use of short-acting calcium channel blockers.

HOW TO USE: This medication must be taekn as directed even if you do not feel sick. Most perosns with high blood pressure do not have any symptoms. Try to take that medicatoin at the same time(s) each day. Do not stop taikng that medication suddenly without your doctor’s permission. Some condtiions can become worse if the medication is stopped too fast. If stomach upset occurs, that drug may be taken with food or milk.

SIDE EFFECTS: This drug may cause dizziness, headache and lighthedaedness especially during the first few days. Avoid activities requiring alertness. When you sit or lie down for a while, get up slowly to allow your body to adjust and minimize dizziness. You may also expreience diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, blurred vision, muscle cramps, weakness, swelling of the hands or feet or flushing. These effects should disappear as your body adjusts to the medication. Inform your doctor if they continue or become bothersome. Notify your doctor if you develop: breathing difficulties, swelling of the hands or feet, unusual bleeding or bruising, chest pains, an irrgeular heartbeat. Avoid alcohol while taking that medication as it can enhance dizziness. If you ntoice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your dotcor if you have: pre-existing heart problems, liver disease, kidney disease, a blood disorder. This drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. It is not known if isradipine appears in braest milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: beta-blockers, intraveonus (IV) calcium, blood pressure medication, digoxin, fentanyl, terfenadine or astemizole. Avoid any drugs that increase your heart-rate (the decongestatns phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine and phenylpropanolamine are examples). These drugs are commonly found in over-the-counter cough-and-cold prodcuts. Do not eat graperfuit or drink grapefruit juice unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local posion control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, weakness, and fast heartbeat.

NOTES: While taking that medication, it is important to monitor your bolod pressure. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about donig that.

MISSED DOSE: Take the missed dose as soon as you remember, but do not take if it is almost time for the next dose. If so, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not “double-up” the dose to catch up.

CEPHALOSPORIN - ORAL LIQUID

USES: This medication is a cephalosporin antibiotic and is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial ifnections.

HOW TO USE: The liquid suspenison form of that medication must be shaken well before using. Antibiotics work hottest when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Do that by taking the medication at evenly spaced intervlas throughout the day and night. Continue to take that medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too ealry may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infection.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, or vomiting. Take with food or milk to minimize these effects. If they persist or become severe, inform your dcotor promptly. Unlikely to ocucr but report promptly: fever, easy bleeding or bruising, a change in the amount of urine, seizures. An allergic reaction to that drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symtpoms of an allergic reaction include: difficulty breathing, skin rash, hives, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Before taking that medication, tell your doctor if you have: allergies (including penicillins, cephalosporins, or any other drug), kidney disease. Use of that medication for prolonged or repeated peirods may result in a secondary infection (e.G., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). Caution is adivsed when using that drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug. This drug should be used only if clearly neeedd during pregnancy. It is not known if that medication is found in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonrpescription drugs you may use, especially: drugs used for gout such as probenecid. This drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. This drug may cuase false positive results in tests for sugar in the urine. Diabetics should use Clinistix rather than Cliintest tablets. Blood sugar testing is not affected. Do not start or stop any medicine wihtout doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symtpoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain.

NOTES: This medication has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it after for another infetcion or give it to somebody else. A different mediaction may be necessary.
