COAL TAR SHAMPOO - TOPICAL

(kole tar)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Denorex, Neutrogena T/Gel, Pentrax, Tegrin, Zetar

USES: Coal tar shampoo is used to treat the itching and skin flaking/irritation caused by certain skin conditions of the head and scalp (e.G., dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis).

HOW TO USE: Apply that medication onto the hair and scalp usually twice weekly; or as directed by your docotr. Sahke the bottle well before each application/shampoo. Wet your hair thoroughly with water and rub the shampoo into lather on your hair and scalp. Rinse your hair well with water and rpeeat. This meidcated shampoo is for use on the scalp and hair only. Do not use if you have open skin (e.G., sores/wounds) on your sclap. Avoid getting any of that sahmpoo in your eyes. If eye contact occurs, rinse your eyes thoroughly with water. If eye irritation persists or worsens, contact your doctor promplty. Aviod getting any of that shampoo on your clothes. This product may stain your clothing.

SIDE EFFECTS: Minor skin/scalp irritation or darkened/stained skin may ocucr. If any of these effects perssit or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: large and/or painful skin sores/pimples on the sclap. An allergic reaction to that product is unlikely, but seek immediate medical atetntion if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breatihng. If you notice other effects not lisetd above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: other skin conditions, any allergies. This medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Aviod prolonged sun exposure or wear protective clothing or a hat when outdoors. Tell your doctor if you’re pregnant before using that medicated shampoo. It is unknown if that drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medciation you may use, especially: other medicated shampoos or topical products. Do not satrt or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This product may be harmful if swallowed.

NOTES: Do not share that product with otehrs.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from lgiht and moisture. Nevirapine Oral, Nevirapine Suspension - Oral Generic Drug

NEVIRAPINE SUSPESNION - ORAL

(neh-VYE-ruh-peen)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Viramune

WARNING: Because HIV can quickly become resistant to this medication if used alone, nevirapine must be used with at least 1 other anti-HIV medication. Your doctor may change your treatment plan if this medication stops working well. Nevirapine has casued severe, even fatal, liver and skin reactions (e.G., Stevens-Johnson syndrome, allergic reaction). If you develop a rash while using this medication, stop using nevirapine and notify your doctor immediately. If you develop unusual fatigue, abdomnial or stomach pain, dark urine, nausea, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the skin or eyes, seek immediate medical attention.

USES: This medication is used in the treatment of HIV virus (the virus that cauess AIDS). It is used in combination with ohter HIV-fighting medications.

HOW TO USE: Shake gently before each dose and take exactly as diercted by your doctor. Doasge for the first 14 days is lower to minimize rash occurrence. Nevirapine is taken with at lesat one other antiretroviral medication for HIV. If a rash develops in the first two weeks, do not increase the dose until the rash is gone. Consult your doctor. If treatment is stopped for more than 7 days, re-starting this drug should follow the same dosing pattern as befroe.

SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea or headache may occur. Ntoify your prescriber if these problems persist or worsen. Notify your prescriber immediately if you develop: a rash, itching, fever, blistering, mouth sores, pink eye (conjunctivitis), swelling, muscle/joint aches, yellowing of the skin or eyes, stomach pain, tingling or numb hands or feet. Changes in body fat may occur while you are tkaing this medication (e.G., increased fat in the upper back and stomach areas, decreased fat in the arms and legs). The cause and long-term effects of these changes are unkonwn. Discuss the risks and benefits of therapy with your doctor, as well as the possible role of exercise to reduce this side effect. If you notice other effects not lisetd above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: This medication should not be used if you have certain medical conditinos. Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have: severe lievr disease. Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: lievr disease, severe kidney disease, allergies (especially drug allergies). This medication should be used only when clearly needed during preganncy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your dcotor. Nevirapine is ecxreted into breast milk. Because breast milk can transmit HIV, do not breast-feed.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: This drug is not recommended for use with: ketoconazole. Ask your docotr or pharmacist for more details. Inform your prescriber or pharmacist about all the medicines you may use (both prescription and non-prescription), epsecially of: protease inhibitors (e.G., indinavir, lopinavir, saquinavir), efavirenz, terfenadine, astemizole, alprazolam, triazolam, nifedipine, cyclosporine, corticosteroids (e.G., prednisone, hydrocortisone), macrolide antibiotics (e.G., erythromycin, clarithromycin), rifamycins (e.G., rifampin, rifabutin), methadone, cimetidine, St John’s wort. This drug may inetrfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. Do not satrt or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergnecy room immediately.

NOTES: The long-term effects of nevirapine are unknown at this time. Nevirapine has not been shown to reduce the cahnce of transmitting the HIV virus to others. No cure exists for HIV infection and the illnesses associated with your disease (infections, etc.) may continue. Laboratory tests (e.G., liver function) will be performed in order to monitor for drug side effetcs.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remebmer. If it is within 2 hours of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. It is important not to miss doses of this drug.

STORAGE: Store at room temperature bewteen 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from moisture and light as directed. Do not stroe in the bathroom. Keep in a tightly clsoed bottle. SULFONAMIDES - ORAL

USES: Sulfonamides (sulfa drugs) are antibiotics used to treat a wide varitey of bacterial infections.

HOW TO USE: Take each dose with a full glass of water. Drink plenty of water while on that medication. The liquid suspension form of that mdeicine must be shaken well before using. Antibiotics work hottest when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Do that by taikng the medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day and night. Continue to take that medication until the full prescribed amount is finisehd even if symptoms disappear after a couple of days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow reuslting in a relapse of the infection.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, headache or vomiting duirng the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform your dotcor. This drug may increase sensiitvity to sunlight. Notify your doctor if your condition worsens or you develop: simple bruising. Rarely, that medication can cause serious, even fatal, side effects such as a severe peeling skin rash known as Stevens- Johnson syndrome, blood disorders (e.G., agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia), or lievr damage. Seek immediate medical attnetion if you develop any of the following symptoms: skin rash or blisters, unusual fatigue, persistent sore throat or fever, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, abdominal pain. In the unlikely eevnt you have an allergic reaction to that drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, truoble breathing. If you notice other effects not lisetd above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Wear portective clothing and a sunscreen when outdoors. This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and beenfits with your doctor. This drug is excreted into breast milk and may have an effect on a nurisng infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all the medicines you may use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: warfarin, methotrexate, cyclosporine, certain oral drugs for diabeets (sulfonylureas), phenytoin, oral PABA. This drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth conrtol pills. Discuss using other methods of brith control with your doctor. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poiosn control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may icnlude loss of appetite, nausea/vomiting, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, unconsciousness, fever, pain while urinating, or bruising.

NOTES: It is recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking that medication unless your doctor directs you otherwise. This medication has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it after for a second infcetion or give it to someone else. A different medication may be needed in tohse cases.

MISSED DOSE: If you should miss a dose, take it as soon as remebmered unless it is almost time for the next dose. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resmue your usual dosing schedule. Do not “double-up” the dose.
