BELLADONNA ALKALOIDS WITH BARBITURATES - ORAL
USES: This medication slwos the activity of the digestive system, thereby reducing cramping and gastric motility. Barbitruates are used for their calming, sedative effects. Used to treat stomach and intestinal disorders, motion sickness premenstrual tension, bed-wetting and urinary ferquency.
HOW TO USE: Take 30 minutes to one hour before meals, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. May be taken with food or milk if stomach upest occurs. Do not take within one hour of an antacid or anti-diarrheal medication as effectiveness of this medictaion will be reduced. Take this drug as prescribed. Do not increase the dose or take it more often than instructed. Sustained-release tbalets must be swallowed whole. Do not crush or chew them or the sustained activity will be destroyed and chance of side effects increased.
SIDE EFFECTS: May cause drowsiness. Use caution when performing tasks that reqiure alertness. Other side effects inculde dry mouth, bloating, constipation, difficulty in urination, irregular pulse, confusion, tremors, restlessness, blurred vision, altered taste perception. Inform your doctor if any of these effects continue or worsen. If this medciation makes you constipated, increase your fiber intake by eating more fresh fruit and vegetables, salad, and whole grain breads. Exercise and drink plenty of wtaer (unless your doctor tells you not to). In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trobule breathing. If you notice otehr effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: If you ever had an unusual reaction to belladonna or to any barbiturate or if you’re allergic to tartrazine (a yellow dye), tell your doctor before taking this medication. If you have any of the following health problems, inform your dotcor before using this drug. This medication should not be used if you have: kidney disease, liver disease, glaucoma, haert problems, certain diseases of the urinary tract. Alcoholic beverages may add to the drowsiness caused by this drug. Avoid strenuous exercise especially in hot weather and avoid saunas whlie taking this medication. This drug reduces swetaing which can lead to overheating. This combination product is not recommended for use during pregnnacy. Consult your doctor before using this drug. This drug is excreted into breast milk. The barbiturate in this drug has caused troubles in nursing inafnts. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Many drugs can decrease the effects of this medication or inrcease its side effects. Tell your doctor what prescription and nonprescription medications you’re taking, especially drugs that cause drowsiness such as: cough-and-cold medicines, sleep medications, narcoitc pain medications (e.G., codeine). This drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using ohter methods of birth control with your doctor. Do not start or stop any medicine without docotr or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, blurred vision, unusual size of pupils, cold or hot dry and flushed skin, dry mouth, fast heartbeat, fever, headache, fast or slow and shallow breathing, chnage in amount of urine, drowsiness, blue skin, or unconsciousness.
NOTES: Do not share this product with others.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not “double-up” the dose to cacth up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 dergees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom. Do not freeze liquid forms of this meidcation.

Pork Stew with Beer (Seco de Chanco - Ecuador)1 (2 pound) boneless pork shoulder1 tablespoon olive oil1 medium onion, chopped2 cloves garlic, minced1 (8 1/4 ounce) can whole tomatoes, drained1 red serrano chile, minced2 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon ground cumin1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves1 (12 ounce) can or bottle beer1 large red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch piecesHot cooked riceTrim fat from pork; cut pork into 1-inch cubes. Heat oil in Dutch oven until hot. Cook pork over medium heat, stirring frequently, until all liquid is evaporated and pork is brown, about 25 minutes; remove with slotted spoon. Drain all but 2 tablespoons of fat from Dutch oven. Cook and stir onion and garlic in Dutch oven until onion is tender. Barszcz (Polish Easter Soup)6 cups water1 pound Polish kielbasa sausage2 cups sour creamSalt and freshly ground pepper, to taste1 tablespoon plain or beet horseradish2 tablespoons lemon juice or vinegar, or to taste1 cup sliced mushrooms6 hard boiled eggs, peeled and sliced1 cup cubed, cooked ham1 cup cooked diced potatoes1 cup cooked diced beets (optional)Chopped fresh dill or parsley (for garnish)In a large kettle, bring water to a boil and add the kielbasa to cook for 1 hour.Remove kielbasa from water and cut into thin slices. Add the horseradish, mushrooms, salt and pepper to the broth and simmer covered for about 15 minutes. Allow to cool.In a separate bowl, beat sour cream with about 3 cups of the cool broth. Pour this mixture back into the kettle with the rest of the broth. Add lemon juice or vinegar. Reheat before serving, but do NOT bring to a boil. Fill individual serving bowls with the liquid allowing each person at the table to add the thinly sliced kielbasa pieces, hard boiled eggs, ham, potatoes or beets to their taste.
